I decided recently that my portfolio needs more monsters. Here's one you might recognize. I originally named this post Frankenstein, but my sister-in-law set me straight. In the original Mary Shelley novel, the big guy is referred to as "monster," "fiend" and my favorite, "wretched devil," but NOT Frankenstein--that's the name of his creator. I won't make that mistake again!

"Frank" is lookin' good! You really pushed the lighting effects to the point where he almost looks 3-D. This guy belongs on your website next to the mummy or at least on this year's Halloween card. A nice mix of creepy and comical.
sweet! new piece?
How did I miss THIS post? Frankenstein is, perhaps, my favorite novel. In fact, I'm getting ready to teach it to my juniors and seniors (after an in-depth - and seasonally appropriate - investigation of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, of course!) and one of the big questions I ask my kids as they're analyzing the piece is what affect the creature's never being given a name has on the telling of his story! Cool!
Oh, and just so you know, I'm directing a parent to your and John's websites; she's written a children's story she wants to self-publish and is interested in finding some illustrators. I IMMEDIATELY thought of you two; I hope you don't mind...
